Blogging while riding Ophelia

So we are weathering the storm. Luckily, we are not floating away…yet.

We have had 12-hrs of rain (roughly 12+ inches) and expect another 6 hrs of rain. Some subdivisions in Brunswick County (between Wilmington and South Carolina) are flooding (such as Saint James Plantation).

Low lying areas in southeastern North Carolina are likely flooding, and news has just broadcast that Carolina Beach Lake has flooded and that 18 inches of water covers Lake Park Boulevard.

Needless to say, I think the road is closed…

This is one photograph from Wilmington that has arrived in my inbox. Lots of water in that ditch huh?!

Here are some links for information:

For information from Wilmington’s NOAA, visit NOAA’s Wilmington Page.Information from WECT (Wilmington TV station) is at WECT Weather

Information from WWAY (Wilmington TV station) is at WWAY Weather

Greenville, Washington, and New Bern TV Coverage is at WNCT TV

Postings will continue through the storm as long as the dsl stays working…
